Dear Love Bug,
I'm a little late with this but better late than never. You've grown by leaps and bounds this month. You look more like a toddler than an infant! At your six month appointment you weighed in at 20 pounds 10 ounces and 28 and 3/4 inches long!
You've outgrown your infant car seat at six months. So we had to buy a convertible one. I can't wait until it arrives as you will be much more comfy in it AND safer. I hate driving around with you in old one since it's not real safe for you right now. Plus you are crammed into it and get cranky about getting strapped in, and RIGHTFULLY SO!
You are wearing 12 month clothing in most manufacturer's sizing now. So you get to wear cute stuff like polo shirts and big boy jammies (two pieces without the feet).
You get two solid food meals a day now too. So far your reperatoir includes: bananas, oatmeal, pears, acorn squash, avacado, carrots and your absolute favorite, SWEET POTATOES! When we put you in your high chair and you see the spoon and bowl you kick your legs widly and squeel with delight. I am making all your food myself so it's lots of fun for me too and your daddy loves it because he can finally share in feeding you since you still refuse a bottle. Although you are learning to take a sippy cup.
You love eating solids. But you still love nursing. So much so that you wake up every two hours at night to do so. This has to stop young man. Mommy needs sleep.
We are moving to our new apartment in about a week and a half. It's in Noe Valley in the city, a wonderful family neighborhood with an organic farmers market on Saturday mornings and lots of great restaurants and shopping within a short walking distance of our new house. The apartment is great, all hardwood, lots of windows and GREAT views of the city, an attached garage AND laundry. There are only six units in the building too so it's nice and small and quiet.
I'll be in great shape living there too since we live at the top of a very long VERY VERY steep hill. I don't think I could push a stroller up it, so we'll be bjorning it a bit longer, at least until I can get you in an umbrella stroller.
It's on a nice quiet back street, so no more sirens, motorcycles, busses and muscle cars racing past your window all day and night long.
You and I are taking a mom and baby yoga class with Ms. Roberta and Beck and Ms. Cathy and Patrick. You three boys constantly entertain the younger babies with your peels of laughter and your babbling.
You absolutely HATE being on your tummy so you've learned to roll over so that you don't have to spend more than a few seconds in that position. You're also getting really good at sitting up although you still launch yourself backwards frequently so you aren't an independent sitter yet. You also LOVE to stand holding on to things. It makes you laugh.
I bought you an exersaucer thinking you'd like to stand and jump in it. So far you aren't that enthused with it. Only midly entertained. But suddenly you like your swing again and will actually fall asleep in it!
We are all looking forward to the summer since we'll be living in a neighborhood that isn't inundated by fog! It should be warmer and more summerlike for us. Plus we are going to visit your grandma and poppa in Florida for two weeks at the end of May and early June. Should be SO much fun. You'll get to see what warm weather is actually like and swimming in the ocean, playing in the sand and so much more. Good thing you can wear sunscreen now.
Before we know it little man you are going to be crawling, and than walking. You are growing up so fast that sometimes I just stare at you while you sleep, hoping to remember all the little contours of your face, all the soft red hair on your head and the long lashes you have at this age.
We love you so much my love bug.
Mommy
